A baby was killed after her babysitter’s dog mauled her.

Paige Bradley, 5-months-old, was sleeping when her babysitter’s German Shepherd attacked her.

“I can’t even say (what happened),” Terika George, the mother, said. “ I just gave it to God … I told him to figure this all out for me.”

“I never heard of anything like this,” George said.

Paige’s babysitter, who is a longtime family friend and the mother’s roommate, was in another room when the incident happened.

He said he had put the baby to sleep and fell asleep in a different room. The mother said that when she reached home, the babysitter was asleep. She went to check on the baby.

At around 3 AM, the police were called and were told that a German Shepherd killed the baby. Police say that the person calling was “frantic” and was not able to clearly express what the emergency was.

The dog was brought to animal control where officials euthanized it. After a thorough investigation, the authorities did not find any evidence of neglectful or unlawful acts by anyone in the home. No charges have been filed.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to pay for the baby’s funeral expenses.
