Heather Thomson Says Ramona Singer Made Racist Comment While Filming Real Housewives Of New York
After years of being a fan favorite franchise, Real Housewives of New York really took a nose dive. While it’s true that this past season was especially bad, I feel like the show has lost its magic over the last few years. Two seasons ago, the only major addition to the longstanding cast was Leah McSweeney. She was supposed to bring a fresh vibe to the show. And really all she ended up bringing was drunken tiki torch meltdowns. As much as she tried to stand up to OG Ramona Singer, it fell flat. Even Leah couldn’t muster up an ally to help her with the fight. Enter the first Black cast member, Eboni K. Williams. Boy did she step into a mess. And took all the heat for it.
So they canceled the reunion. Andy Cohen confirmed that the show is on hiatus and the rumor mill is swirling as to why. Production originally made it seem like the reunion delay was covid related, But it finally came out that the delay was due to an investigation into racist remarks made by Ramona. The complaint was lodged by Eboni and an unnamed crew member. A source on the show’s production team alleged that Ramona made the comment, “This is why we shouldn’t have Black people on the show.” The comment came after a tense argument with Eboni, resulting in her being thrown out of Luann de Lesseps’ house.
Now Page Six is reporting that none other than Heather Holla Thomson was there and is spilling what really happened when she talked to The Post. Remember that Heather made a cameo last season while the ladies were on vacation. And where much of the drama between Eboni and Ramona occurred. Heather tried to bring something to the table with her limited time on the episode. But no one really cared about what she had to say outside of her talking sh** about them in the press.

But Heather was present for the fight between Ramona, Luann and Eboni. and she confirmed that she did in fact hear Ramona say the racially insensitive remark. According to Heather, “I was there and I heard Ramona say that and I freaked out.” For her part, Ramona denied it and called the allegation a “terrible lie.”
Despite Ramona’s denial, Heather revealed, “Bravo said there was an investigation. To my knowledge, they’ve never offered or required unconscious bias or sensitivity training to the cast or producers on the show ever. I was never asked. Do they know and care about the effects [the show] has? It’s nonsense. They are not interested in people, they are interested in money.” When asked if she thinks Ramona has issues with diversity, Heather clearly feels some kind of way. She said, “What do you think?”
Ouch. While some might deem Heather irrelevant to the show (fair), she was present last season and is simply giving her side. It’s not a good one for Ramona, but I think we all know Ramona is a sinking ship. Many fans still love her, but plenty are sick of her selfish behavior on the show. She’s been there so long I think we are just scared to see what the show is like without her. Either way, housewives don’t last forever and this might finally be Ramona’s undoing.
