Real Housewives Of Dallas Cast Is “Surprised, But Relieved” By Announcement Of Show’s Hiatus

August 19, 2021

I am still shook by Bravo’s announcement that Real Housewives of Dallas will not be gracing us with a sixth season. In a statement, Bravo said, “There are currently no plans to bring The Real Housewives of Dallas back next year, and beyond that nothing official has been decided.”

Season 5 of RHOD was plagued with problems. Many thought that when LeeAnne Locken left the franchise after Season 4, it would be a reset for the series. Not so much.

Brandi Redmond’s video mocking Asian people resurfaced. Newbie Tiffany Moon addressed the issue with Brandi. Later, a video leaked of Brandi’s husband, Bryan Redmond, allegedly kissing another woman in a club. Oof. Brandi seemingly announced her departure from RHOD in an Instagram post on February 21, 2021. “I have loved sharing my life with you but sometimes things come to an end,” Brandi wrote.

There was also a racist Twitter attack on Tiffany by co-star Kameron Westcott’s husband, Court Westcott, and his brother, Chart Westcott. Tiffany announced that she was done with RHOD. Then, Bravo issued a statement  supporting  the Asian community and Tiffany.

According to Entertainment Tonight, a source stated that the Dallas Housewives were “surprised, but relieved” that the show was going on hiatus indefinitely because the end of Season 5 “got so toxic.” The source claimed that three new ladies were considered for roles on Season 6: Mahisha Dellinger, Lizzy Savetsky, and Madelaine Lam. The women had filmed with some of the RHOD cast, but “it wasn’t working.”

The source continued, “D’Andra [Simmons] and Tiffany [Moon] don’t talk to Stephanie [Hollman] or Kameron [Westcott]. It would’ve been hard to make any relationship between those four feel organic, especially with everything that happened between Tiffany and Kameron after the reunion.” The source told Entertainment Tonight, “They just couldn’t find the right mix that made sense.”

Now the cast is reacting to the news that their show has been benched. “It is a sad day to see this chapter of The Real Housewives of Dallas close but also a wonderful day to sit back and remember all the amazing moments we had together as a group!” Kameron said on Instagram. “These ladies have become sisters to me over the past 4 years and we’ve gone through so much together.”

When a fan on Twitter asked LeAnne for her thoughts, she responded, “No one cares what I think. I got engaged and married and those truly are the highlights of my life! I’m grateful!” Well, there you have it!

RHOD alum Cary Deuber posted a promo video from the show on Instagram. She wrote, “Thank you to those who have supported me over the years on #RHOD & @bravotv for highlighting beautiful Dallas! Cary added, “But as they say… ‘when one door closes, another opens.’”

Stephanie wrote on Instagram, “Five years ago I was blessed with the most amazing opportunity to join the Real Housewives of Dallas Franchise. I was also blessed with working with my best friend, @brandiredmond!” Stephanie said. I think that Brandi and Stephanie will always be BFF’s. “As I move forward, I look forward to spending more time with my sweet boys and focusing on my husband, family and foundation,” she stated.

“Thank you so much to everyone that has supported me during my adventure on #RHOD it has been such an amazing experience and I have so many memories and an incredible bond with my sorority sisters,” Kary Brittingham posted on InstagramD’Andra reflected on her happy memories captured by the Bravo cameras, like her cook-off with her husband, Jeremy Lock. “Again, thank you all for the love and support you have shown to me. You will never know how much it meant to me, and how much YOU mean to me,” D’Andra  wrote on Instagram.
