Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Saffire Matos: What Domestic Violence Incident? We're Happier Than Ever!

June 01, 2021

One month after getting arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Saffire Matos, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has shared a new photo on Instagram.

It features hiim and Matos in a close embrace and it certainly appears to have been uploaded with a very specific message in mind.

The couple would like everyone to know they're doing better than ever ...

... and may even get married someday in the near future!

On Monday, the veteran Jersey Shore star and Matos each shared snapshots embracing each other on social media.

Ortiz-Magro -- who disabled the comments on his post -- captioned one of these images with heart and bear emojis, adding the hashtag "#BearTings."

In another photo of the couple on his Story, the embattled MTV personality added a "wifey for lifey" sticker, making it evident that he cares pretty deeply about his attractive lover.

Glancing at these pictures, one would be forgiven for thinking Matos and Ortiz-Magro had always been happy and care-free.

Alas, Ortiz-Magro was arrested on April 22 in Los Angeles on suspicion of intimate partner violence with injuries and with priors, a spokesperson for the LAPD previously told various outlets

He was taken to jail before being released later that day on $100,000 bail.

According to TMZ, Matos was the person who called 911 at the time of the incident.

Moreover, she reportedly had brusies and marks on her person at the time police arrived on the scene.

Matos never confirmed or denied this report, instead choosing to address whatever transpired with Ronnie as follows:

"Ronnie and I are fine.

"There is a lot of misleading information floating around out there.

"With anybody who reached out with concern I appreciate it with all my heart, but everything that's being portrayed out there are not facts."

Concluded Matos at the time:

"I don't think it's fair that people are using false accusations to gain attention.

"Please leave Ron and I alone. You don't know what someone is going through at the end of the day."

Ortiz-Magro has been dating Matos, who runs a Staten Island lash bar, since last fall.

He has since been cleared of all domestic violence charges, but could still face jail time due to a probation violation -- which would stem from the last time he allegedly committed assault... in October 2019 against ex Jen Harley.

Ronnie is also now taking a break from Jersey Shore filming to deal with mental health concerns.

“After talking to the team at MTV, we have mutually agreed that I will step away from the show," Ronnie recently announced.

He will do so "while I seek medical treatment for mental health issues that I’ve ignored for too long."

Continued Ronnie on this subject:

“My number one goal now is facing my struggles head on.

"This process will be difficult, but my #1 priority is to get healthy and be the best man and best father I can for my daughter.”

Following Ronnie's April arrest, he and Matos assured fans that they were still on good terms by sharing an inspiring quote about finding lasting love on their respective Instagram accounts.

Read the excerpt:

A soulmate is someone who challenges you to be better, someone who can’t stand seeing you sad, someone who stays faithful, loyal and committed to you, someone who helps take care of you when you’re sick, someone who stands by your side through the good days and the bad days.

And someone who wants to grow old and grey with you.
