#SayHerName: Sandra Bland’s Family Talks New HBO Documentary And ‘Outrage Fatigue’ [Video]

HBO To Premiere Sandra Bland Documentary “Say Her Name: The Life and Death Of Sandra Bland”

A new documentary that highlights the life and death of the late Sandra Bland who was found dead in her cell back in 2015 after a confrontation with police.

Bland’s sisters stopped by The View on Tuesday to discuss the new documentary entitled Say Her Name: The Life and Death Of Sandra Bland. Sharon Cooper spoke about the times we’re living in today and why it’s so important now than ever to let Black stories be heard, saying,

“There’s almost this outrage fatigue. If you are living while black in America, you know what it feels like to have your life in jeopardy at any given point.”

As for what actually went down in the jail that caused Bland to lose her life, sister Shante Needham added,

“To be honest with you, we’ll never know. And that’s what hurts the most.”

The family hopes that the HBO film will inspire change and carry on Bland’s message. The Life and Death Of Sandra Bland premieres December 3 at 10pm.
