Always intent on crafting new unique artwork, I decided to personify chess pieces by giving each one of them a human character.

I tried to put emphasis on the head designs and characteristics of each piece, as well as, their functions. My overall goal here was to combine the familiar look of the piece with my own interpretation.

Naturally, black and white were heavily used, as they are primary colors associated with the game of chess.
