Pit Bull Keeps Lost Little Girl Safe After She Went Missing For Two Days In The Woods
When two-year-old Charlee Campbell went missing from her grandmother’s home at 10am in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, her distraught family frantically searched for her.
Little did they know that their pet pit bull, Penny, would help bring their little girl home safe and sound.

Search crew spent 48 hours looking for the toddler after she had wandered off into the woods nearby.
The little girl was finally found after she walked up to a neighbor’s porch several hundred yards up a wooden hill.
Wayne Brown, whose house she walked up to, said, “I saw the dirt all over her, and she had leaves in her hair, and I opened the door, and I said, ‘Are you Charlee?’.”

“And she handed me this bottle. And I said, ‘Are you Charlee?’. She didn’t answer me. She wouldn’t say anything.”
After realizing who she was, the homeowners contacted the authorities, who then took her to the nearest hospiral for evaluation.

Aside from tick bites and slight dehydration, the toddler appeared to be in good health.
Law enforcement officials found it ironic that Penny arrived home just a few minutes before Charlee was found.

Charlee’s grandmother said, “This is our hero right here. When my dog didn’t come home, and my baby wasn’t home, she was not going to leave that baby until she got here.”
“I can’t even explain how happy I am that this baby is home, because I love her more than anything in this world.”

While she’s still in the hospital recovering from her two-day adventure, the toddler appears to be no worse for wear.
Officials have revealed that they will be working with Child Protective Services and conducting a thorough investigation into Charlee’s disappearance.
