Ryan Sutter, the husband of original “Bachelorette” Trista Sutter, spoke out this week in regards to suffering from a mystery illness, with Trista now thanking fans for their support.
“Ryan and I are humbled by the outpouring of support we have received,” the former reality star told People. “At this time, we kindly ask for privacy as our family deals with this difficult matter. Your love and kindness means the world to us.”
In an Instagram post, Trista, 48, said doctors ruled out the possibility that Ryan, 46, has cancer after he exhibited symptoms similar to those of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which she said was a “huge relief.” However, the couple has not been able to find out why he is sick.
“Part of us was wanting a diagnosis,” she wrote in her Instagram caption. “Wanting to be able to fight for him to be cured instead of fighting for an answer. How messed up is that? Don’t worry, I know. It’s messed up. But, that’s where we are. In a holding pattern of not knowing.”
Detailing his own ordeal, Ryan noted how in February he “began feeling occasional ‘flu like’ symptoms” at the conclusion of his training with Denver Fire.
“I was tested for COVID multiple times but never tested positive. I completed the academy and believed/hoped I would begin to recover and feel better. It’s been five months now and, if anything, I feel worse,” Ryan explained.
“I have a strong support group and the best wife in the world,” he added, optimistically. “Please don’t worry about me. I will be fine. If you must worry, worry about each other. Support each other. Be there for each other.”
