Legendary singer Dionne Warwick had some deep thoughts for a younger generation of entertainers, much to the delight of her fans, who had her trending on Twitter Saturday evening.
“Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name? I cannot stop thinking about this,” Warwick tweeted at the famous rapper.
A stunned Chance quickly replied, “Sorry I’m still freaking out that u know who I am. This is amazing!”
“I will be whatever you wanna call me Ms Warwick. God bless you,” he added, along with two heart emojis.
But the “That’s What Friends Are For,” crooner wasn’t ready to stop there.
“I am now Dionne the Singer,” she quipped, before replying to Chance to say, “Of course I know you. You’re THE rapper. Let’s rap together. I’ll message you.”
She tweeted that “Holy,” by “Justin the Bieber” and Chance the Rapper “is one of my favorite songs right now.”
“The Weeknd is next. Why? It’s not even spelled correctly? @theweeknd,” she continued.
“If you have ‘The’ in your name i’m coming for you. I need answers today.”
But then, Ms. Warwick was done.
“Okay, I am going to watch Lucifer now. Bye!” she tweeted.
