Nauti Nauti!
Last week Page Six reported that the yacht set was determined to enjoy Art Basel this year —even though the annual Miami art extravaganza isn’t happening because of COVID.
And sure enough, we now hear that cops had to shut down a huge party at the Nautilus Hotel — always a Miami Art Week hotspot — on Sunday night because it was in breach of all kinds of coronavirus safety measures.
“The police showed up at 8:15 p.m. and literally raided the place and forced everyone to leave,” said a spy of the party, where we’re told deejays the Martinez Bros and Blond:ish performed.
The ticketed bash kicked off at 3 p.m., and organizers said there would be temperature checks and that, “Masks [would be] REQUIRED at the door for entry and must be worn at all times during the event.”
But video of the packed event, seen by Page Six, makes it clear that few, if any, partiers wore masks.
In one video, a voice can be heard ordering throngs of revelers to leave the premises through the hotel’s rear exits. The command was met with boos from the crowd.
The Miami Beach Police Department confirmed to Page Six that officers attended, adding that they were “there to support the efforts of Code Enforcement.”
New COVID cases are trending upwards in Florida.
