The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

Londoners with a penchant for animatronics are in luck. Netflix has already announced a release date of 30 August for the The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, a serialized spinoff of Jim Henson’s cult classic puppetry fantasy. But fans in the UK will soon get the chance to experience the show on an immersive level available nowhere else.

The BFI Southbank will host “INTO THRA,” a free-for-the-public exhibition dedicated to the upcoming series, from 23rd August through 6 September. In addition to a wide selection of sets, figures, and costumes from the production, the run will also include puppet workshops, Q&A sessions, and a behind-the-scenes gallery going through the making-of process.

In the new series, three fantastical creatures known as Gelflings must defend all that is good from The Skeksis, a species of evil avian-reptile mutants. At the exhibition, visitors will have the chance to get up close and personal with both the heroes and villains, along with the rest of the creepy critters dreamt up by the Jim Henson Company.
