Kate Middleton and the Princess of Norway Look Exactly Like Anna and Elsa From ‘Frozen’
retty much everyone has heard of Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, but have you ever heard of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway? The Princess, who married Norway's Crown Prince Haakon in August 25, 2001, is a low-key figure to those not tuned in to European royals, but she should definitely be on everyone's radar.
Why? Because like Duchess Kate, she was a commoner when she married her prince.
Oh, and she's a bit of a wild child.
Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby was born in Norway in 1973 and grew up in a normal two-parent household. Her father was a journalist, and her mother (presumably) was a stay-at-home mom.
Mette-Marit worked for Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce at Norway House, London, when she finished high school, and, ironically, stayed at the same flat the exiled King and Queen of Norway lived in during World War Two.
After that, she went on a massive bender.
Mette-Marit partied with a very wild crowd, and ended up having a baby with a convicted drug dealer. Then she met the prince at Norway’s largest music festival, Quart Festival.
When Mette-Marit married Prince Haakon it was a huge deal. She was a commoner, a single mother, and she had a scandalous past. After they married, however, Norway quickly fell in love with their Cinderella.
There was one other thing that helped. Princess Mette-Marit legit looks like Elsa from Frozen.
This is especially important when you consider that Arendelle, the mythical country Frozen is set in, is modeled after Scandinavia.
And guess who should visit it this week but Kate Middleton and Prince William.
