Boston Police Department Dragged After Honoring White Man For Black History Month
White privileged folks really make EVERYTHING about them…and they tried to come for Black History Month yesterday. Someone behind Boston’s Police Dept’s twitter tweeted a tribute to a former Celtics coach name Red Auerbach, a White man, for placing Black men on his team in the 1950’s “in honor of Black history month”.
WTF! The tweet has since been deleted, only screenshots of it remain. The BPD has since apologized…SMH.
Boston PD really tried to make Black History Month about a European American. Lmfao

Here’s the watery apology:
BPD realizes that an earlier tweet may have offended some and we apologize for that. Our intentions were never to offend. It has been taken down.

Statement from Police Commissioner William B. Evans, "On behalf of the Boston Police Department, I offer my sincerest apologies for last night's social media post on Black History Month. The tweet was insensitive and does not reflect the values of the Boston Police Department."
